2021 Cabernet Franc
The 2021 Cabernet Franc presents as a powerful, deeply colored wine with primary notes of blackberries, sage, and dark ripe cherries. On the palate, the wine is perfectly balanced with intense and concentrated fruit with layers of woodsy spice, licorice, and graphite. This wine had an extended three-week maceration on the skins before being pressed off at the end of October. The wine is aged for 9 months in 100% new French oak and 20% one-year French oak barrels undergoing only three rackings in that time (one rack after ML, one for blending, and one into tank to bottle). This is the first single varietal Cabernet Franc produced for this project.
